WNN April 13, 2018

I contributed to WNN this week by being the anchor for the weather. I also made the music again. In a normal week in Broadcast Media, we start out by finishing up our blogs and planning for filming on Monday. On, Tuesday we continue planning, getting our scripts approved, and start filming. Wednesday is our main film day and we always try to finish filming. On Thursday, we finish any filming, edit our pieces, and put it all together. I also usually make the music on Thursday. On Friday we watch and critique the final product as a class and start writing our blogs. Communication amongst everyone involved in the production of a segment is crucial. Good communication allows everything to flow smoothly and get finished on time with minimal stress.

WNN Week 7

Overall, I thought that this week's news was very good. The school news was put together very well. This was a big accomplishment because of the last minute struggle of matching the interviews with b-roll. I had also forgot to make background music until the last minute, but it ended up working out pretty well. It ended up matching the footage pretty good. One thing that I can improve is that I still looked pretty awkward and stiff as an anchor.

WNN Week 6

This week, I didn't do very much to contribute because I was on Oahu for soccer. I was only here for the day we were writing the script. This weeks news was super good though. Everybody did a good job. The ACT test part was very informational, It probably helped out a lot of students. Jake and Jai also did a very good job with the Olympic highlights, especially considering that I was supposed to be helping them but wasn't here.

WNN Week 5

In the fifth week of WNN, I contributed by doing Sports, Community and Weather. I think that for the broadcast as a whole, the overall quality went up. The school news and special segment parts were both very good. I think that the quality for my part went down though. This can be improved upon by not recording on phones anymore. I could have avoided that by not waiting until the last minute. Next week I'll make my segment better than this week's by trying to make sure it's filmed on a good camera and recorded with a good mic.

WNN Week 4

This week's WNN was pretty good. Despite this, there were still some things that could've been improved. One strong part of this week's broadcast was that there was background noise in the interviews. This was an improvement from last week's broadcast in which the only sound in the interviews was the main audio. Something that we could have done better was that in one of the interviews, the teacher was standing too close to the camera which made it kind of weird. This could have been fixed by backing up the camera or asking the teacher to move back. Another good thing was that the Sports, Community, and Weather had very good camera presence.

WNN Week 3

This week I contributed to WNN by being an on camera host. I had trouble with this because I wasn't comfortable talking in front of the camera. I was very unrelaxed and stiff. It also looked weird because I was reading the script from a laptop so I wasn't looking into the camera. This could have been fixed by memorizing the script beforehand. I also had trouble with pronouncing certain words. My favorite moment from this week's WNN was the segment about renovations because the interviews were good.

WNN Week 2

This week, I contributed by WNN by making another rap. I helped make the beat, and then I wrote and recorded the rap. I also got filmed lip syncing it for the music video. This was all part of the Special Segment. The biggest challenge was finishing the music video at the last minute. We kept putting it off until then, so it ended up being pretty difficult to finish.
